Thanks for stopping by and taking a look around! I grew up as a proud farmer’s daughter, where our version of a family vacation was spending a week at the county fair with our favorite cows. Those early years of farm life and 4-H shaped so much of who I am today. That cool kid who sat behind me in 7th-grade homeroom? He became a great friend, an even better boyfriend after college, and, now, my husband of nearly 30 years. Together, we’ve built a life with three amazing kids, a house with cats and doggers, and a barn that’s home to chickens and pigs every summer. Growing up on a farm, I quickly learned how weather and light shaped everything we did. I became fascinated by the warm glow of sunset and the way light reflected off the world around me. When my oldest daughter was born, I noticed that same beautiful light reflected in her eyes, and I wanted to capture it forever. That’s when my love for photography began. I taught myself natural light photography and started a business that allowed me to embrace both motherhood and my creative passion. For nearly 20 years, I’ve been blessed to photograph families, seniors, and special moments. It’s taught me that perfect pictures don’t exist, and the best shots often come from life’s imperfect, unplanned moments—babies crying, something tumbling over, or natural reactions that show true connections. Here’s a little more about me: I’m the woman who loves her husband, kids, fur babies, and friends with her whole heart. I’m obsessed with summer, chocolate, and warm evenings under the stars. I make it a point to notice every sunrise and let it inspire a fresh start to my day. I am a rim snob. I won’t buy are car if the rims are ugly. Hate cleaning but love a clean house. I photograph every client like my family or child. I am not like other photographers because I guarantee so many pictures but always give more. My photo packages are based around a mom's love of her family or child….lots of pictures!!!! I can’t wait to meet you and help tell your story through my lens! I strive to ease your preparation by helping brainstorm outfit ideas to tips for preparing the kids to WANT to take photos. All I ask is that you trust me and take the plunge! Email/text me & let’s book this! Once you have secured your session date with a $500 retainer you are officially a Laura Luft Senior! Next, I'll send over some info to start prepping for your big session. We will also set your consultation!
1. BOOK IT!
Next, we plan! Our consultation will take your ideas and mine to create your customized session. You'll plan and try on all the outfits just to make sure everything is ready. Lastly, it will be time to get excited and get a good night's sleep before your session! All that is left to do is HAVE FUN at your session!!!
2. Dream. Plan. do.
This is my favorite part! The REVEAL!!! In just a week to 10 days after your session, I will send your session! If you purchased the Mini Senior Session, you will select your images to download. If you purchased the Senior or Deluxe Senior Session you will be able to download as soon as you receive your gallery link!
4. Your gallery
It's finally here! Time to hang out with me and my camera for a few hours while we capture your amazing senior portraits. LET'S ROCK THIS!
3. Session day
DO YOU ONLY SHOOT SENIORS?
Nope! I specialize in Seniors but love shooting families throughout the year.
DO I HAVE TO DO MY SENIOR SESSION IN THE SUMMER OR FALL?
No! Not at all! We can do it ANY time of year! Our only deadline is the yearbook picture one. I have done a few quick head shots for seniors in the fall to submit for the yearbook and then have done a full senior session in the winter or spring session!
HOW FAR IN ADVANCE SHOULD I BOOK?
For your choice of dates, plan to book at least 2-3 months in advance or more! Sometimes there are last-minute appointments but because I do limit my sessions to keep my creative juices flowing, only a few session dates will be added throughout the year.
I AM NERVOUS ABOUT POSING!
I totally understand that feeling! I promise you though I have studied posing for years and I will guide you. I will teach you as we go and you will pose yourself by the end of your session! You have nothing to worry about!
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR TO MY SESSION?
Once you’ve booked your senior session, I will send you a what-to-wear guide for lots of great fashion advice and basically everything you need to know to prepare for your session. Planning outfits is the best part! Once you have some in mind I suggest you send me a picture of your outfit so I can start planning how we can compliment it to a background location.
HOW LONG UNTIL WE SEE THE PHOTOS?
Within a week to 10 days of your session.
WHAT ABOUT THE PAYMENT PROCESS?
I accept cash, venmo and checks for payments. Booking can be done through Venmo OR by giving me a call and then paying the retainer with cash or check. To secure a senior session date you must pay the retainer fee of $500. I do offer pre-session payment plans if you'd like to send money ahead of time to pay in smaller amounts!
WHAT IS THE AVERAGE SENIOR PORTRAIT INVESTMENT?
I know deciding on a senior portrait photographer to invest in is a big decision. Rest assured I will guide through every step of your senior portrait experience so you are never unsure of what is next. All that is included in your senior experience along with other fun stuff! My amazing senior clients generally invest anywhere from $550 and up depending on their needs.
