When I first met Emily and her sweet mom, I instantly felt her down-to-earth vibe, and knew we would want something playful and fun to celebrate her senior session! When they presented the idea of the elementary school playground for her location, I was instantly inspired. It was the perfect way to kick off her shoot. We had incredible weather that day, and by the time we went our second location, which had plenty of tall grass and pathways, I was already getting excited to edit and hand over these images. Emily was a natural in front of the camera, and we even had a few unexpected audience members: deer! This beautiful girl wore a mix of floral pieces for most of her shoot, and I loved each and every one. They reflected her sweet and adventurous personality, and the florals made me smile. She chose a simple white blouse and jeans for another outfit, and it was so classy and elegant.
I’ll be honest, juggling the wife and mom thing with being a photographer can be really tricky some days. It’s hard for me to leave my children some days to meet with clients…not because I don’t love my job (I do!), but because I am doing my best to soak up and enjoy my little ones. On the day of Emily’s shoot, I struggled to leave because my hubby was out of town, but when I arrived, I was reminded of why I love what I do. I feel so inspired by my sessions and my clients that it truly calms me and reminds me I am just where I need to be! As it turns out my kids had a friend stop by and bring them ice cream, so they had a pretty perfect night as well!
