I love advising my clients on their senior wardrobe. It’s something that really shows off your personality, and something that can be changed and tailored to your location and your interests! I think there is a common misconception that if “boho, Anthropologie-style” shoots are cool, that you have to be trendy, and wear boho. I really want my clients to know that while I love trends and I stay up to date on the current ones, I also believe that you should choose what YOU love, even if it’s not “trendy”. If you hate boho, by all means, don’t choose boho! I wanted to share some cozy options today, as we are in the colder months here in Elba. I know “cozy” can be associated with sloppy, but there are lots of polished and comfortable options:

- Barefoot Dreams: This brand is more of a lounge-wear brand, but man, their sweaters are GOOD! They are some of the most expensive, but they also last forever, and wash beautifully. They’re incredibly soft, and they look great over a button down blouse and high waisted jeans, or even with boots and dark skinny jeans. They’re available at Nordstrom, so watch for their best sales HERE.
- Old Navy: This affordable brand has been crushing the sweater game this year. Every time I log on, I find another great sweater. Although they may not last for multiple seasons, they are great options for a senior session at a more budget-friendly price. Look for sweaters that have interesting details and longer lengths, because Old Navy shrinks up quite a lot. I like this fair isle, blouson sleeve one for a fun, interesting choice that you could also wear for the holidays. Find it HERE.
- Target: As if we could love Target any more than we already do, but their A New Day brand has some beautiful options. Like Old Navy, they’re mostly synthetic fabrics, so they may not wash or keep as long as something from Nordstrom. But, for $15, this adorable turtleneck sweater is classic, cozy, and warm.
- GibsonLook: This brand is well-loved by bloggers all over the country, and for good reason. The lightweight, cozy sweaters and tops are under $50, and they look great with jeans and leggings. If you need some basics for your senior shoot, this brand would be your go-to. This super soft, longer length tunic has a convertible neckline, and goes below the bum for coverage with whatever pants you choose.
When you’re looking for cozy pieces for your senior session, look for things that have texture. Texture is a great way to add interest visually to your senior shoot without spending a ton of money, and without being distracting with lots of prints! Let me know if I can help with your senior wardrobe! Part of our exclusive senior experience is giving you one-on-one help with the whole process!
