Five Questions You Should Ask Your Senior Photographer

When you first set out to find a senior photographer, you may have experienced the gamut of emotions: “How can I find someone who will make sure I look like myself?”, “How do I know who is right for me?”, and if you’re the parent of the grad, you may be wondering, “When did I blink, and when did my child grow up?”. It can feel sad, exciting, and monumental all at once, and underneath all those feelings, you wonder how you know you made the right decision. As a senior photographer here in New York, my goal is always to put you at ease and give you not just images to last a lifetime, but the experience to match. Here are five questions you should ask your senior photographer (even if it’s not me!):

What’s your session fee, and what is included? This is a big one! Many seniors and parents have a budget set aside for this experience, and knowing what it is ahead of time can help you from incurring unnecessary debt. I’m a firm believer that surprises are NOT great when they relate to finances, so I lay it all out for you. Our session fee is $200, with an additional $200 required towards your future product order, so what you need to pay to book with me is $400. Pretty simple, right? And it includes your pre-shoot consult (where I can answer all your questions), shooting time of 2+ hours, an in-home exclusive session premiere, and a family session when your order is complete. We also offer pre-payment plans, so that your budget doesn’t have to prevent you from getting the images you want!Albion High Senior Senior pictures-senior-pictures-Albion-Elba-photographer
When do I get to see my images? This is important for those of you who need a portrait for your school yearbook. If you book with us, your session reveal will be scheduled within 2-3 weeks of your senior shoot. If you book your ideal date early on, those many deadlines will be a breeze.

Will you help me pose, and plan my session? You wouldn’t believe how many people get a bit nervous in front of the camera…even the veteran models or those who have photos taken often! I am trained to help you pose, guide you on hand placement, and put you in the most flattering light without stressing you out. I also walk you through the entire process, from first contact to handing you your heirloom, luxury products, you won’t be alone!

How will my portraits be different from anyone else’s? If you have a large graduating class, you may be wondering how your photos will really stand out. I get it; every senior I work with wants that special spark of something that will set their images apart, and make them the standout among their friends. I accomplish this by really getting to know you, and the things that you are passionate about. Your smile, your laugh, the way you walk and talk…these are all components of what makes you amazing, and those are the things I love capturing in portraits. That’s why your images will never be the same as anyone else’s…because there’s only one you! We also change up our locations, poses, and styling so that every senior gets a day that’s customized for them.

How far ahead should I book? Our shoots really do fill up quickly, so I recommend calling us at least 2-3 months prior to your ideal time of year. Booking early ensures that you will get the date you want, and will also help you plan your outfits and ideas early on.

Are you ready to go ahead and give us a call? We would love to begin the process with you, and show you what sets our elite, luxury senior portraits apart from the rest. Let’s get started!
