Tips for your Product Ordering Session

Preparing for your ordering session and premiere is no small feat. It can be overwhelming when we present your images, and ordering your luxe products can seem like an insurmountable task! Rest assured, there are a few tips for making the most of your special ordering day!

-Know you aren’t going to do it alone!  I (Laura) personally walk you through the ordering process, helping you make the most of your investment. I know that it can seem overwhelming to see all the options, and wonder which items will make the lasting impact you’re hoping for. I can show you the average investment for our clients, and our most-loved pieces that I think you’ll love. Most of all, I can offer helpful feedback and assistance with your questions.

-Measure your spaces: It’s really important to know which areas of your home or bedrooms that you may want large prints or products in. I get many clients who think that a 8×10 print will be large enough for a spacious wall, without realizing it will be dwarfed all on it’s own. Instead, I encourage you to measure and write down the measurements for large spaces you hope to hang your images in. This will help me guide you to the appropriate sizes and items that will look more impactful and right for that space.

-Make a list of the family members who want prints or products: You definitely do not want to leave out a beloved member of your family on accident, so it can be helpful to ask around before your ordering session, as to who may want prints to display. It is also a great idea to order at least one additional print than what you think you need. A list will help you narrow down which items will be for grandma, aunts and uncles, best friends, etc., and it can help you stay on budget without adding things you don’t actually need. Also, don’t trust a “list in your head”, because often the pressure of making decisions can make you forget who you were ordering for.

-Don’t forget to relax and breathe: Take your time to really look at and hold the items and products that are available to you. It should be a celebration, not a stress-fest! Don’t be afraid to ask for help, and to trust your photographer (me) with what will truly work best for your needs.

-Decide if you want to send wallets with your graduation announcements, and make that list early on: Many graduates like to include a wallet sized image with those special school-issued announcements, and you’ll need to know how many you plan to send, before your ordering session. Be sure your parent or guardian agree with your lists/numbers before that day, so that you are on the same page! We do our ordering sessions in-home, so all decision makers can be present and accounted for!
